Brilliant Wiring A Switch Contactor Collections - The photograph beneath is how the well installer ended up wiring the contactor. Notice the real setup has a pumptec established among the contactor and well pump. I left this out of the question at the beginning to simply the query and because i knew the way it have to be stressed out in.
In line with tester101's remark, why are you using a contactor in any respect? What type and length of nicely pump (submersible, jet pump) and is it presently hard-wired or plugged-in? Also, what is the model of the float switch you have? Optimistically it is a "pmu" version (pump-up), but they also have versions with and with out plugs (which is why i ask). All of these will probably dictate the nice manner to twine this up.
The documentation for the waft transfer says it is able to without delay manipulate a 1 hp pump at 230v, so i'm no longer certain why you're the usage of the contactor at all. You might be able to simplify the setup, and take away the contactor. Then you definately'd wire it up like this.
I have a 30a 2p breaker inside the container that feeds the lowest of the contactor. The pinnacle of the contactor is wired to the pump. If it subjects, these wires are attached to the contactor using the screws and not the gold contacts that may be seen in the image.
The reality changed into that i wasn't really doing the work myself. The guys who dug my properly were putting in all of this equipment. I did not usually believe the work they have been doing so i was asking them to give an explanation for matters to me. When the installer explained how he turned into going to wire the contactor, he informed me he became most effective going to have one twine going to the coil and leave the opposite side without any cord connecting to it. That regarded very incorrect to me, however he said b/c it was 220, it would "just paintings." I rather doubted that and posted right here to confirm the best way to twine it.
