3, Toggle Switch Wiring Diagram - I’m running in a domestic following a person else’s “beginnings”, relocations, wiring. It’s riding me crazy. Essentially my trouble in the intervening time…a wall turned into eliminated that had a three way switch on it, and the wire is inside the attic now, but nonetheless attached to the other switch within the corridor (it controls light on fan, and single pole in same gang container controls fan). The two switches in hallway had been interconnected from a source (receptacle). I would like to get strength returned to the transfer from the attic…my question is this, if i jump into a current box in attic and handiest have black and white leads to connect to for electricity, what occurs to my purple cord going to the switch. I’m assuming i'd tie the whites in with different white wires in present container.
I would love to replace my current mild in the ceiling with a ceiling fan that has a mild. I have 1 switch on the wall that control the presently mounted mild however i would like to replace that switch with one that would independently manipulate the new fan with mild. Further, i would really like to put in a dimmer transfer for the light.

Earlier than you begin whatever with a 3-manner, you need to take into account that in order so that it will have a three-manner circuit you should have 3-manner switches. They are now not the same as a everyday switch at all. And a 4-manner is very exceptional once more. But that’s on a one of a kind page.
My 3 manner switch has the dark screw (not unusual) across from a traveler and the opposite traveller at the bottom of the switch in which the commonplace is in your example. Is this a difference in brands of switches?.
